International publisher Brill is pleased to announce the addition of the Open Access journal Contributions to Zoology to its Biology publishing portfolio. Brill has taken over the publishing responsibilities from Naturalis Biodiversity Center.
Contributions to Zoology has published cutting edge zoological research since 1848. Focusing on all systematics-related branches of comparative zoology (including paleontology), the journal began as a publication of the Committee in charge of the library of the Dutch Royal Zoological Society "Natura Artis Magistra". Contributions to Zoology has been published in Open Access since 1997. The journal is added to Brill's impressive publishing program in Biology and has an impact factor of 1.641.
Ronald Vonk, Editor-in-Chief of Contributions to Zoology, comments: "Historically based in Dutch natural history museums and zoological societies for 170 years, our journal now found a natural partner in Brill publishing. We continue serving the wider field of zoological research combining the biology of the whole organism with the basic disciplines of taxonomy, systematics, and biogeography. Freed from former limitations in production by now joining a professional publishing house we hope to serve the ever growing demand for suitable platforms publishing biological research on the evolution of life on Earth".
The journal issues will be published in print and online. Brill's Open Access journals are discoverable through DOAJ and distributed free of charge in Brill's Journal Collections. The first issue with Brill is planned for publication late February 2019.
