Brill, the international scholarly publisher, releases another 21 books in Open Access via library crowdsourcing platform Knowledge Unlatched.
Knowledge Unlatched brings academic libraries and publishers together to create a sustainable route for Open Access books and journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Brill has been participating in the award-winning scheme since it first launched in 2014.
The recently unlatched collection with over 300 titles includes 21 Brill books in fields such as Political Science, History, Philosophy, Sociology, Classics, and Religious Studies. There's no extra charge for authors for their Open Access titles to be included in KU. All titles are available with a CC BY-NC license on OAPEN, the HathiTrust, as well as Brill's own Books and Journals platform to guarantee the widest possible electronic distribution. On the Brill platform, individual customers may acquire a MyCopy paperback version of each Open Access title for just 25 Euro / 25 USD.
With the 21 books funded through Knowledge Unlatched Brill's Open Access book program is growing to more than 220 titles, making Brill one of the most successful Open Access book publishers in the Humanities. Services to authors include publication in high quality book series, full peer review, typesetting and production to highest standards, print publication, compliance support, marketing and distribution.
