IFLA announces it will hold its annual Congress in Dubai in 2024

The news was announced on 19 June 2023. According to the press release, "The Congress – IFLA’s flagship annual event – is a central moment in the life of the Global Library Field. It is a chance both for international visitors to experience and learn about other library cultures, and for participants from the host country and region to immerse themselves in international librarianship." It will be the first time IFLA has met in an Arabic-speaking country.
