The internet is becoming an increasingly visual platform (see Phil Bradley's article on creating multimedia information). The latest figures from YouTube show that nearly half of all the world's internet users use YouTube. In addition, every single one of the Top 100 brands are running campaigns on YouTube.
In discussing the figures, YouTube blogs about the importance of its Generation C user. Generation Cs are not defined by their age, but rather by their interest in using the platform for connection, creation, curation and community. They are multiscreen users who are increasingly watching via mobile devices and consuming many forms of content over many different screens.
