UKeiG has announced the first in a series of free annual lectures associated with the prestigious Tony Kent Strix Award for information retrieval.
Each year the previous year's winner will be invited to talk and answer questions about their research.
This year’s speaker is Dr Susan T Dumais of Microsoft Research. For over 30 years, she has been a leading light in information retrieval - both in terms of research and practice - with sustained contributions that are both innovative and practical.
The lecture will take place on Friday 6th November at the Geological Society in London.
The Annual Lecture series is sponsored by Google.
