UK: Councils not digital by default

A survey of the UK’s local authority websites has found that 69% are underperforming.

The research conducted by netEvidence for Software as a Service (SaaS) explored how residents were experiencing council web services. 

• 24 of 28 English council websites took over half a second to load
• 69% of London authority websites and Scottish council websites underperformed
• 77% of metropolitan authority websites were found to be underperforming

Not only were a large number underperforming, outsourcing meant that many councils had no way of monitoring the customer experience.
