Twitter #music is a free service and app that will help people find and share music.
Music featured on Twitter #music comes from three sources: iTunes, Rdio and Spotify (additional sources may follow). Twitter #music uses Twitter activity to ‘detect and surface' tracks. Users will hear previews from iTunes and subscribers to Rdio and Spotify will be able to log into their accounts and listen to the whole track.
Users will be able to:
- Tweet/share songs to followers
- Use #NowPlaying to navigate to music others have tweeted
- Follow and find out more about artists featured in charts
The app is now available in Australia, Canada, Irleand, New Zealand, the UK and the US. Twitter has plans to roll out an Android version and bring the app to more countries.
