Purchase of analytics firm agreed.


The purchase of the social TV analytics Bluefin Labs firm highlights Twitter's interest in social TV.  The social network is already partnered with Nielsen to create Twitter TV ratings.  Bluefin monitors TV-related conversations on Twitter and provides data to advertisers and TV networks.

There is considerable interest in using social analytics to create new advertising opportunities.
