Thomson Reuters has announced the launch of the Book Citation Index which brings a new layer of citation data to the Web of Knowledge platform.
The Book Citation Index means researchers can now search 25,000 books in the social sciences, sciences, arts and humanities as well as 12,000 peer reviewed journals and 150,000 conference proceedings already included on the Web of Knowledge.
Content for the Book Citation Index comprises scholarly e- and print books dating from 2005. The plan is to add an additional 10,000 books every year.
Universities and research institutions can also connect their library's book catalogue and e-book collections with the Book Citation Index.
