Taxonomy Boot Camp London - Call for Speakers now open

Taxonomy Boot Camp London 2019 will take place on 15-16 October; the theme for 2019 is "Anything is possible".

The Call for Speakers for Taxonomy Boot Camp London (TBCL) is now open, with this year’s conference theme being “Anything is possible”

Now in its fourth year, Taxonomy Boot Camp London is once again looking to showcase the very best insights and practices in taxonomy and related work including knowledge and information management. The conference welcomes contributions from taxonomy practitioners, technologists, researchers, developers, information architects, product managers and more.

Topics of interest include taxonomies for absolute beginners; enterprise search (including structured data, relevance engineering and day-to-day management); the ethical aspects of working with models and classifications; and knowledge graphs and blockchain. A longer list of topics can be found on the conference website.

“What makes this a great community is the desire to sort stuff out, whether it’s content, navigation, data or metadata,” explains TBCL’s Programme Chair Helen Lippell.

“Our attendees have a wide spectrum of experience and knowledge; some are complete beginners, while others have years of experience working hands-on with highly complex taxonomies and projects. For this reason, we build a programme which caters for anyone who uses or manages taxonomies, ontologies, search applications and semantic data.”

More information about the conference and topics can be found here. The deadline for submissions is 5 April 2019.

Taxonomy Boot Camp London will take place alongside ILI at London’s Olympia on 15-16 October 2019.
