Not only was Sweden the first country to launch an LTE (or 4G) network, it also boasts the fastest 4G networks in the world, with an average download speed of 22.1 Mbps.
According to the crowdsourced and aggregated figures published by OpenSignal, Hong Kong comes second behind Sweden. Denmark and Germany are the only other European representatives in the top ten.
62 countries worldwide have adopted LTE while an additional 21 countries have LTE in development.
Meanwhile, according to TeliaSonera, 54% of customers who have used faster 4G services would not return to slower 3G services - even if prices increased. Their statistics also suggest that faster broadband speeds can lead to customers spending more time online.
