Snapchat is to enable its Discover publishing partners to promote and link to their Snapchat channels on Facebook and Twitter.
The publishing partners, including CNN, Vice and BuzzFeed, will now be able to share and promote links to their content via other social media apps. The result will almost certainly be an increase in traffic.
Until now, some publishers have used workarounds to post or promote their Snapchat content. Now the availability of Snapcode deep-linking will mean users will be directed to a specific page of content.
The move highlights how the mobile web is driving social media apps to become ever more integrated and seamless.
