Slow wi-fi? Check your fairy lights

Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator, has released an app that lets consumers test the speed of their home broadband.  The app checks to see if data is flowing uninterrupted from routers to devices and advises on what could be slowing down wifi.

Potential culprits include microwave ovens, baby monitors and even fairy lights.  Consumers are advised to keep their routers as far as possible away from devices emitting wireless signals.
