According to the latest comScore figures, Russian search engine Yandex is now the world's fourth most popular search engine.
Yandex specialises in recognising the Cyrillic alphabet and Russian search queries. Users generated almost 9.5 billion search queries in November and December while Microsoft processed just under 9 billion queries in the same period.
The global search market exceeded 350 billion queries during the last two months of 2012. Google retains its market share lead, with just under 229 billion search queries
