RSC to roll out 'Gold for Gold'

The UK's Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is to roll out its 'Gold for Gold' OA initiative worldwide.  Originally launched in the UK earlier this year, 'Gold for Gold' provided research institutions with credits equal in value to their subscription payments helping them to make the transition to OA publishing models.

Almost 60 UK research institutions joined 'Gold for Gold' and more than £1million of OA article publication fees were paid during 2012.
