According to Gartner Inc's latest report on mobile apps:
- Over 45 billion mobile apps will be downloaded in 2012
- 90% of apps downloaded in 2012 will be free
- 90% of paid for apps will cost less than $3 each
- Apple's App Store will have 21 billion downloads (up 74% on 2011)
- More new entrants to the app market are expected
