In what is a ‘completely new venture' for NPG, Scientific Reports will provide online, open access to primary research in all areas of the natural sciences. The publication offers rigourous peer review and rapid publication schedules. The articles will be made freely available and authors will retain the copyright.
Authors will pay an article processing charge (APC) and will have a choice of two non-commercial Creative Commons licenses. NPG will make an annual donation to Creative Commons (an international community of people who support open access and open educational resources).
The first articles will appear in June 2011.
