Voice searching is on the increase and is particularly popular amongst teenagers.
A survey conducted in the US on behalf of Google asked 1400 users about their voice search behaviour.
- 55% of teenagers (13-18 years old) are using voice search at least daily
- 41% of adults are using voice search at least daily
Voice searching is used to help people multitask:
- 59% of teenagers use it while watching TV
- 23% of adults use it while they are cooking
- Both groups are using it for help with directions (38% teenagers; 40% adults)
- One third of teenagers use voice search for help with homework.
