Church Street Public Library in London’s Westminster and Paris Library at Places de Fete serve similar communities and have been ‘twinned’ since autumn 2013.
The libraries share best practice, exchange books and collaborate on cultural events. They have also introduced a ‘modern penpal’ scheme.
The twinning scheme serves as a way to provide something to French expats in London and British expats living in Paris.
The case study of the two libraries was shared as part of a competition looking for ideas and examples of service improvement initiatives devised by people working in local government.
