Internet Archive fire: appeal launched

The Internet Archive's San Francisco-based scanning centre has suffered and estimated $600,000 worth of fire damage.

Although digitised material was not lost, some physical material which was being digitised at the centre has been lost.  The Internet Archive has announced that it is working with its library partners to assess the level of damage.
