Information: Interactions and Impact Conference - call for speakers

The 2017 Conference is being held in Scotland in June.

A call for papers is now open for this year's Information: Interactions and Impact (i3) conference to be held at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland on 27-30 June.

i3 aims to bring together academic and practitioner researchers with an interest in:

  • the quality and effectiveness of user/information interactions (e.g. information literacies);
  • patterns of information behaviour in different contexts (e.g. creativity, ethics, surveillance, ownership, information recycling/reuse);
  • the social, cultural and economic impacts of engagement with information, including the assessment of value and impact;
  • the value of information and knowledge as agents of change in organisations and communities.

Submissions are invited for full papers, short papers and round table discussions. The deadline for paper submissions is Wednesday 25 January 2017. For more information on conference themes and paper submissions visit http://www.rgu.ac.uk/research/conferences/i-2017.

There are two confirmed keynote speakers: Professor Elaine Toms of the University of Sheffield and Professor Gobinda Chowdhury of the University of Northumbria. Additional keynote speakers will be added to the programme.

Authors of accepted full conference papers will have the opportunity to submit expanded versions for peer review for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science in 2018.

This friendly conference will be held in the Aberdeen Business School on RGU’s beautiful riverside Garthdee campus and there will be a programme of social events for delegates.
