India: YouTube Go goes live

The app has been developed to cope with India's slow internet speeds.  It is estimated that only 30% of internet users have a connection faster than 4mbps.

The beta version of the app offers users several viewing options including saving videos for offline viewing, sharing videos using wifi and being able to select video resolution.

Google will continue to develop the app, which may be rolled out into other developing markets.
