In 2008, a research project undertaken by Edinburgh Napier University and TFPL sought to discover how the (then) relatively new social tools were being used in the knowledge management arena.
A new research study, being undertaken as a postgraduate project by Hadi Daneshvar and supervised by Professor Hazel Hall (who also led the earlier project) seeks to chart recent developments and to explore the opportunities and risks of social media tools with reference to information and knowledge management in the business environment.
Impacts of Social Media on Enhancing Knowledge Management will explore the use of thee tools in the business environment, and will consider blogs, wikis and micro-blogging.
The questionnaire, which should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, is available here, where you will also find more information about the project.
