IMLS announces 25th anniversary medal winners

The US Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has announced the ten winners of the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.  The award, launched in 1994, celebrates institutions that demonstrate innovative approaches to community service.

The winners were chosen from 30 national finalists and demonstrate the many ways in which museums and libraries meet the needs of the people they serve.

The winners include:

• The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Library (Sequim, WA)
• Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (Ann Arbor, MI)
• New Haven Free Public Library (New Haven, CT)
• New Children's Museum (San Diego, CA)
• Orange County Regional History Center (Orlando, FL)
• National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel (Memphis, TN)
