Google wants to speed up mobile

AMP project aims to improve mobile experiences.

Google has launched the Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) Project which aims to speed up mobile upload by providing publishers with new ways to make web pages.

Google has removed some components of tools used to create web pages (HTML, JavaScript etc) that are not critical and that may slow down mobile web experiences.  The result is a pared down toolkit of open source coding that can be used to create mobile content.

With an increased reliance on mobile advertising revenues, it is in Google’s favour to speed up mobile upload.  Many observers think publishers should keep an eye on the initiative and wait to see if the pared down AMP can really provide great user experiences.
