Google plans to recruit thousands of moderators to review YouTube content.
As well as increasing the number of human moderators to more than 10,000 in 2018, YouTube will continue to develop machine learning technology to flag problematic content. Human moderators play a vital role in training machine-learning systems.
In recent months, users have discovered violent and unsuitable content that had slipped past the YouTube Kids filter while verified channels have featured child exploitation content.
YouTube is also reforming its advertising policies and plans to increase its team of advert reviewers.
