Google Right to be Forgotten: latest figures

Google has released figures for the first 12 months of the Right to be Forgotten.

In the first 12 months of implementation, Google has received over 280,000 requests to remove information from its search results.  The requests covered over one million webpages.

Google approved 58.7% of the requests and over 600,000 webpages have been removed from Google search in Europe.  The proportion of requests approved has increased since the last figures were released in October.  At that stage Google was approving approximately one third of requests.

The majority of requests for removal have come from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK with the French and Germans leading the way.
