Germany: WhatsApp updated user terms challenged

Threatened with legal action over planned sharing of data with Facebook.


WhatsApp has published new user terms that allow it to share user information – including phone numbers – with Facebook.  The Federation of German Consumer Organizations  (vsbv) has threatened WhatsApp with legal action should it not amend the new user terms.

The Federation has previously been successful in taking action legal against WhatsApp, forcing the service to publish its terms and conditions in German.
