Twitter is continuing to grow in France but the most rapid gain is amongst the over-55s.
The figures from com.Score show that the number of users aged over 55 doubled in 2012, with 1.3 million now using the tool and making this age group the largest Twitter demographic in France ahead of the 15-24 year-olds.
The figures may be skewed slightly by the fact that only desktop access was measured. Younger people may be more likely to be accessing Twitter via mobile devices.
