Facebook: helping you through heartache

Facebook is testing ways to help people manage how they interact with former partners.  A prompt to use the tools will appear when someone changes their relationship status.  The tools provide options to:

• See less of a former partner’s name and profile picture around Facebook without having to unfriend or block them (similar to a Twitter mute option)
• Hide your own posts from your ex
• Untag yourself from previous posts linked to your ex

The tools are currently being tested in the US.
