Volunteers in Europe and Australia are participating in an 'edit-a-thon' to write about the First World War.
The volunteers are writing, or expanding, existing Wikipedia articles about the war.
The 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the war next year will see increased interest in the subject. The edit-a-thon will improve and expand the content available and will involve new organisations and people in the work of the Wikimedia movement.
Participants from Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Serbia and Sweden will participate in the event.
