Elsevier launches ScienceDirect AI to transform research with rapid mission-critical insights from trusted content

This new generative AI tool saves half of literature research time, supports better outcomes.


Elsevier launched ScienceDirect AI on 12 March 2025. It is designed to transform how researchers work by enabling them to instantly extract, summarize and compare trusted insights from the millions of peer-reviewed full-text articles and book chapters in ScienceDirect.

ScienceDirectAI can generate instant accurate summaries and highlight key findings, while providing references to support the reproducibility and integrity of research. It features traceable claims, rooted in the scientific record, shown in context via clear links to sources of information and claims, including exact passages within research articles. 

SienceDirect AI is purposefully built to ensure accuracy and reduce the risk of hallucinations and biases. Users can transparently see how the tool reaches answers.
