Elsevier buys SSRN for undisclosed fee

Elsevier has bought SSRN – the Social Science Research Network for an as yet undisclosed sum.

SSRN is a repository and online community for pre-publication research.  Elsevier has announced it will integrate SSRN with its research workflow tool Mendeley in a bid to create a single, consolidated platform for all stages of the publication process.

Elsevier states it hopes the move will make publication journeys quicker and more efficient.
