Kobo, the e-reading company, has acquired a French digital software company called Aquafadas.
Aquafadas enables publishers to create digital content across a range of platforms and will enable Kobo to offer rich, enhanced content such as children's books and magazines.
Kobo has already announced it is to launch a new tablet device (the Arc). It also announced that it is expanding its presence in New Zealand through partnerships with the independent booksellers association and Paper Plus Group.
