British Library celebrates a Season of Sound

A new exhibition celebrates the British Library's collection of over 6.5 million sound recordings.

The Season of Sound is part of the British Library's Save our Sounds programme, which launched in 2016.

Save our Sounds is digitising at-risk and rare recordings and delivering online resources and a programme of activities that aim to connect people with their audio heritage. The Season of Sound programme explores and celebrates 140 years of recorded sound. Events include

  • Late at the Library series featuring electronic pioneers the Radiophonic Workshop
  • Friday night happy hour ‘sound experiences’
  • An evening with naturalist David Attenborough and sound recordist Chris Watson
  • Meet the Curator events
