Australia and Canada: Facebook testing Messenger Rooms

Messenger Rooms aim to offer spaces for focused conversations without the need to share the content with all your friends.

Facebook is testing the English language version of the feature with the relatively smaller audiences of Australia and Canada before any potential international rollout.

Facebook had previously closed its standalone app Rooms in 2015.  Rolling out a new app that sits inside Messenger is likely to encourage take-up.
